thanks! there's this movie i love called "waking life," and it's basically about dreams vs reality, and how sometimes it's so hard to tell the difference. so when i flipped it, it kinda reminded me of waking life, and i kept it that way. :]

is that the one that has vector art layed over actors and such?

yeah! they filmed it all with a regular camera and had five or six (i think) animators go over it and stuff. it sorta looks like a scanner darkly, or at least that's what everyone tells me. i haven't actually seen a scanner darkly yet.

i dunno, i love waking life because for me, it doesn't have a "best" part... it has like twelve. some of the scenes are kind of "wtf?" inducing, but most are really good.

I've heard good things, both about Waking Life, and Scanner Darkly. Haven't actually seen either though.

i highly recommend waking life... the only thing is that it's kind of dense. it takes a while to get used to the animation, and then they're just flooding you with so many theories and philosophies that it can be a little overwhelming. i had to watch it three or four times before i was finally able to take in everything.

but I think movies like that are good, cause they actually express ideas, rather than just demonstrating pyrotechnic techniques like so many movies out there.

for sure! i like movies that make me think, and that don't just spell everything out and make a conclusion for you.
